The Summer 2023 issue of Lakes Letter is out! In it, we take a look at two fascinating legal frameworks and their approach to water: the Rights of Nature and the Public Trust Doctrine. The lead authors on both are two of our inaugural Large Lake Champion Award winners. We are pleased to share their thoughts with you. Also read up on recent court and policy decisions in Canada and the United States, and actions at the global level. You'll also find member news and the latest from the association—from feedback on the IAGLR 2023 conference, to ways you can get involved in the months ahead. And check out the news about Crawford Lake. Could it be the "golden spike" to mark a new epoch? This and more in the summer 2023 issue. Enjoy!
