The IAGLR Student Travel Award helps to defray the travel cost for IAGLR student members attending IAGLR | JASM 2022, May 14-20, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 29. In addition, students outside the United States and Canada are eligible for an IAGLR International Travel Award. The deadline is Friday, March 18.

The JASM Program Committee has decided to extend the abstract deadline to 11:59 PM on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022. Submissions are still being accepted, and people who already have submitted can still edit their abstracts. You're invited to submit an in-person oral presentation (12-minute talk or 5-minute lightning talk), an in-person poster presentation, or a virtual presentation available for asynchronous viewing only. Note that all presenters are required to submit a prerecorded version of their talk. Get started by reviewing the session list. This workshop for undergratudate students will introduce participants to the study of fisheries science and will explore careers in fisheries ecology, management, and conservation Applications are due January 17, 2022.

IAGLR has lost a great friend in David Baker, who died of pneumonia on April 16 at age 84. The founder of Heidelberg University’s renowned National Center for Water Quality Research, he was aptly described by University of Toledo Lake Erie Center Director as the “father of tributary monitoring.” Read more about Dave's legacy in this tribute written by Ken Baker.
