Sampling At Dawn

This was Lake Superior sediment sampling trip from the Great Lake Sediment Surveillance Program. This picture was taken when the sun just rose. The guy on the left lifted up the rope and the lady held the grab sampler which just caught sediment from the lake bottom. The guy on the right was waiting to pour the sediment into the bucket. This was the beginning of the day and the beginning of the research. After getting the sample, a series research will be followed: physical-chemical properties measurements and persistent organic pollutants analysis.
