IAGLR's 68th Annual Conference on Great Lakes Research
June 2–6, 2025
Creating Great Lakes Resilience

IAGLR's 68th Annual Conference on Great Lakes Research will feature four days of inspiring science centered around our theme Creating Great Lakes Resilience. The conference will be hybrid, so if you can't make it to Milwaukee, we invite you to join us online.
Mark your calendars for June 2–6, 2025. You won't want to miss it!
There's something special about the Great Lakes research community, with its integration of many different research topics and knowledgeable and down-to-earth people. But don't take it from us. Here's what previous attendees had to say about highlights from our most recent gathering.
“IAGLR is always my favorite conference for connecting with colleagues and building relationships,” said one attendee. “It was really amazing to see how much collaboration goes on within the great lakes and ways that we can improve it going forward,” noted another.
“The wide variety of topics covered in each of the sessions is incredible. This is a great learning opportunity.”
“The opportunity to share some of our most recent findings” was a highlight for one attendee. The friendly environment is especially welcoming for student presenters.
“I especially enjoyed the increase in participation of African scientists this year,” noted one attendee. Another said, “I super appreciate the recognition given to Indigenous Peoples and their roles in the Great Lakes. IAGLR is truly a leader in this space.”
“I liked the friendly environment; everyone was welcoming and kind,“ said an attendee. “I was greeted with a smile and left with a smile.”
“I always enjoy how this conference feels intimate—like it's a small community (even when there are a decent amount of attendees!),” noted an attendee. “You don't necessarily feel nameless in a crowd like you can at larger meetings.”
Honoring the long-standing relations of First Peoples to this Place.
