Venue

Welcome to Windsor, Ontario, and our main conference venue, Caesars Windsor!

The City of Windsor is located at the center of the Great Lakes basin, nestled along the Detroit River and easily accessible by road, rail, and air (Windsor International Airport or Detroit Metropolitan Airport 45 minutes away). The city is the automotive capital of Canada, lying in the trade and manufacturing heartland of North America, and is home to about 230,000 residents.

Recognized as one of Canada’s most diverse and multicultural communities, Windsor was developed on land that is the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg people of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations (Ojibwe, Potawatomi, and Odawa). They refer to this unique location along the Detroit River, or Waawiyaataanong Ziibi, as "where the river bends."

Windsor is known for its art gallery, symphony, museum, and river front park that features an award-winning sculpture garden. Pelee Island, Point Pelee National Park, Ojibway Nature Centre and Ojibway Prairie (on track to receive official designation as Canada’s second National Urban Park), the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, Fort Malden, and local wineries are just a few of the nearby attractions.

IAGLR 2024 will be held at Caesars Windsor overlooking an international waterfront with riverfront trails and a cosmopolitan skyline of Detroit, Michigan, just across the river. Described as America’s Comeback City, Detroit’s revitalized downtown, including the award-winning Detroit International Riverwalk, offers a diverse, attractive location with world-class arts, culture, and recreation opportunities. The cities of Detroit and Windsor share tight bonds and represent a critical commercial link straddling the U.S.–Canada border with tens of thousands commuters, tourists, and truck drivers crossing the border each day, making the region responsible for more than 25% of cross-border trade. Indeed, despite border formalities, the two cities form a contiguous metro area forming North America's largest cross-border urban area with a combined population of nearly 6 million.
