New IAGLR board members announced

We are pleased to announce the newly elected members of the IAGLR Board of Directors, and thank all those candidates who stood for election this year.

We extend a special welcome to IAGLR's first international board member Richard Ogutu-Ohwayo, who serves as a principal research officer at the National Fisheries Resources Research Institute in Uganda.

Jessica Ives was re-elected as secretary of the association. Jessica is the Lake Erie Millennium Network Coordinator at the University of Windsor, where she helps with the development of research priorities around Lake Erie.

Filling three U.S. regular member positions are Jennifer Boehme, Mary Ginnebaugh, and Edward Verhamme. Jennifer is an environmental scientist with the International Joint Commission, where she assists in advising the United States and Canada on water quality issues affecting the Great Lakes. Mary is a long-time member of IAGLR who has served the association in a variety of capacities, including secretary, chair of multiple commitees, and most recently, as conference coordinator. Edward is a project engineer/scientist at LimnoTech working on a variety of issues across the Great Lakes.

Owen Stefaniak is our new student board member and is currently a graduate student at the University of WI-Milwaukee's School of Freshwater Sciences where he is pursuing a master's degree in freshwater science and policy.

Their terms officially start on Friday, June 22.
