(2026) Walleye spawning strategy in Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron: Tributaries or open water? "This article by Dave Fielder and colleagues in Michigan and Ohio answers a long-standing question regarding the spawning strategy of Lake Huron’s Saginaw Bay walleye population, which now ranks among some of the most significant fishery recoveries in the Great Lakes, and perhaps all of North America," states the Editor's Choice announcement. "The late Dr. Chris Vandergoot, who was the director of GLATOS and one of the study leads, had the early results, and his exuberance was unmistakable at the first team meeting when he presented the numbers."
