Description

Seeking a skilled communicator and collaborator to assist with outreach activities and stakeholder engagement for the Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP) and the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership (CVNHP). This full-time position will work 8 hours per weekday and is based out of Grand Isle, VT. Duties will be performed largely in an office setting and will require regional domestic travel and international travel to Quebec, for which a valid driver’s license, private means of transportation, and a valid passport or enhanced license (or the ability and willingness to obtain one) is required. Occasional weekend and evening work is required. After six months, this position may be eligible for a hybrid telecommuting work schedule, subject to approval and program needs.

In this position, you will:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of outreach programs, events, and communications materials that advance public awareness and stewardship of the Lake Champlain Basin’s water quality, natural resources, and cultural heritage.
  • Deliver presentations to and engage with children and adults at schools, camps, fairs, workshops, and other community events.
  • Coordinate meetings for Citizen Advisory Committees (CACs) and the Champlain–Adirondack Biosphere Network (CABN), ensuring strong communication and collaboration among partners and stakeholders, developing agendas, recruiting speakers, arranging venues, and producing documentation.
  • Support the management of education and outreach and CVNHP grants, assisting with proposal review, grant management, and review of deliverables, budgets, and workplans.
