Purpose: The IAGLR Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility+ (IDEA+) Presenter Scholarship is awarded annually to broaden participation in IAGLR to welcome and involve people from historically marginalized communities. Specifically, this scholarship supports presenters who add to the diversity of perspectives shared at the IAGLR annual conference from the interface of large lake science, management, education, communication, policy, and community. Requests may be made by those who deliver talks at sessions or host workshops that have been accepted by the IAGLR Conference Committee.
Number and Value of Awards: Up to two scholarships valued at $2,000 (USD) each will be awarded each year; however the Awards Committee reserves the right to distribute award(s) as necessary. In addition, scholarship winners will receive free conference registration and a one-year membership in IAGLR, including a subscription to the Journal of Great Lakes Research.

Criteria for Judging: Applications will be evaluated based on how the proposal meets the spirit of integrating aspects of large lake science, management, education, communication, policy, outreach and community. Submissions will be judged on the candidate's abstract for the proposed presentation or workshop, the relevance of the proposal to the scholarship’s goals, and involvement in activities related to large lake issues. For workshop proposals, applications will also be judged on their plan to recruit a diverse audience.
Terms and Conditions of Awards: The IAGLR IDEA+ Presenter Scholarship will be awarded with the recipient’s prior understanding and acknowledgement that an oral presentation of the research will be made at an IAGLR annual conference.
