IAGLR will join eight other member societies of the Consortium of Aquatic Science Societies to host the 2022 Joint Aquatic Sciences Meeting May 14–20, 2022, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The conference theme is Rapid Changes ~ Collaborative Solutions.

Keynote and plenary speakers will be complemented by multidisciplinary sessions and events that will broaden our horizons and strengthen our connections so that we can effectively respond to the rapid changes taking place in our shared aquatic ecosystems.

Acknowledgment

We acknowledge that Nayaano-nibiimaang Gichigamiin (the Great Lakes) bioregion is the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands and waters of numerous Indigenous nations. We acknowledge Indigenous peoples as the region’s original caretakers and knowledge keepers, and recognize their contributions to the stewardship and governance of the world’s largest system of freshwater. We extend our gratitude to them. We also remember that the teachings and practices we carry today were built and shared by many who came before us, including our human ancestors and many relatives with fins, wings, legs, and roots.
