Abstract

We are deepening our understanding of water quality issues within the MWNS sites by comparing historical agricultural development, soil nutrient levels and current farming practices within the 11 sub-watershed areas. This talk will introduce the land management survey and rationale, engagement strategy and preliminary results from surveying the first six watersheds. The presentation will also explore the sociological dimension of water quality research and the importance of meaningful engagement with area residents, farm operators and agronomists as stakeholders in research outcomes.
