IAGLR annually awards Certificates of Appreciation to members for outstanding service to the Association. At the recent 54th Annual Conference on Great Lakes Research, IAGLR recognized Linda Campbell (Queen's University, Saint Mary's University) for her service as IAGLR President, Board Member, and member of numerous IAGLR Committees, and Amanda Poste (University of Waterloo) for her service as an IAGLR Student Board Member and Committee member. IAGLR also recognized Joseph Makarewicz (State University of New York) as retiring chair of the Nominations and Membership Committees, and Gerald Matisoff (Case Western Reserve University) as retiring Chair of the Publications Committee.
The Conference Site Co-Chair Appreciation Awards were conferred on Randall Hicks (University of Minnesota-Duluth) and Stephanie Guildford (University of Minnesota-Duluth), and the Conference Program Co-Chair IAGLR Board Appreciation Awards went to Jay Austin (University of Minnesota-Duluth) and Anett Trebitz (U.S. EPA). Valerie Brady (Minnesota Sea Grant College Program) and Mary Ginnebaugh received the IAGLR Conference Appreciation Awards for their respective roles as Local Arrangements Co-Chair and Conference Coordinator. Other members of the Local Arrangements team were recognized for their significant contributions including: Pat Schoff and June Kallestad (University of Minnesota Duluth), and Judy Zomerfelt, Deborah Bowen, Jesse Schomberg, Sharon Moen of Minnesota Sea Grant.
For their contributions as Associate Editors of the Journal of Great Lakes Research, IAGLR recognized, Gary L. Fahnenstiel, Christiane Hudon, David J. Schwab, and Carol A. Stepien. Special Issue Editors who were also recognized for the contributions include, Steven A. Pothoven, Hunter J. Carrick, and Mark Ebener (Lake Michigan and Food Webs special issue), Katharine Hayhoe and Donald J. Wuebbles (Climate and Midwest special issue), and Trent M. Sutton and Travis Brenden (Lake Whitefish special issue).
