Add Lake Information
We welcome submissions of data updates or corrections, photographs, interesting lake topics, and even inclusion of new lakes. All individuals worldwide interested in large lakes and their watersheds are encouraged to contribute.
Data Updates
Data updates will only be considered if they have been cited in a peer-reviewed, scientific publication. Note that you can easily contribute data by clicking on the "Add" links on the lake profile pages.
New Lakes
Inclusion of new lakes in the database will be considered if the surface area is at least 500 km2. Reservoir and impoundment suggestions are encouraged. Surface area must be published in peer-reviewed scientific literature to ensure consideration. Use the Add a Lake form to submit a new lake.
Lake Descriptions/Interesting Topics
Submission of statements regarding major uses of lakes, research focus areas, policies, management actions, institutions, etc., are encouraged. Citations from peer-reviewed literature must accompany statement to ensure consideration. Send to lakes@iaglr.org.
Photos
We encourage submission of photos depicting lakes. We welcome shots of scenery, commercial activity, research, recreation and more. Help us show how these lakes are an integral part of our lives! Use the Submit a Photo form.
