How to Get There
By Air
For those travelling by air, there are flights from all major centres in the USA and Canada to Pearson International Airport in Toronto. Car rentals from all the major companies can be arranged at the airport. A van shuttle from the Toronto airport to Peterborough destinations (approximately 1.5 -2 hours) can be arranged by contacting Coach Canada at 705-748-3961 or toll free at 800-465-5987. For delegates attending the conference, there is a reduced price, so please let the operator know of your IALGR attendance to access this rate. You will have to provide your flight information and your drop-off destination in Peterborough in order to arrange for the shuttle. You should also arrange for pick-up for your return flight. Coach Canada will provide information on the location of the Ground Transportation desks where you must report in order be picked up.
For US residents who want to arrange for flights to the nearest American airport, Buffalo is the nearest destination, but it will be necessary to rent a car for the approximately 3.5 hour trip (depending on traffic) to Peterborough from Buffalo.

Approximate travel times from various centres are: 1.5 hours from Toronto, 2.5 hours from Ottawa, 2.2 hours from Kingston, 3 hours from Niagara Falls, 4.5 hours from Gananoque, 5.5 hours from Detroit. Try to avoid the morning an evening rush hours if travelling through Toronto.
