Parking

Parking passes will be available at the registration desk for conference attendees. The charge is $4.00 per day and must be picked up at the registration desk and displayed in the car. For residence guests, the parking is included in their registration and they will be provided with a parking pass.

Meals

Registration includes the welcome reception on Monday evening (cash bar), the Business lunch on Wednesday, and dinner at the IAGLR Banquet on Wednesday evening and the IAGLR BBQ on Thursday evening. Lunches for the other days will be available for conference attendees through purchase of meal tickets. Please be aware that the campus is not in an urban area and therefore there will be limited meal alternatives available without transportation to and from the downtown core. On Tuesday evening, attendees are free to make their own dinner arrangements at a Peterborough restaurant, or dinner can be purchased on campus for those who wish to stay on campus. Graduate students are encouraged to attend the Graduate Reception in downtown Peterborough on Tuesday night. Coffee, tea and juice are available at morning and afternoon breaks.

Weather

The weather in late May is usually pleasant, with daytime temperatures fluctuating from 15-25oC (60-75oF). Tents will be available at the IAGLR BBQ in the event of rain.

Off-campus Events

Conference attendees have automatic admission to the special lecture by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. included in their registration. Bus transportation will be provided to and from this event from the campus. There will also be bus transportation for graduate students going off-campus on Tuesday night to the Graduate Reception in downtown Peterborough, plus a return trip at midnight.

A bus will be provided for those who wish to participate or watch the Can-Am hockey game at the Evinrude Centre on Friday afternoon.

Currency Exchange Rate

Registration is in American dollars. American visitors can assume that the two currencies will be approximately at par at the conference. It is recommended that American visitors exchange their currency into Canadian dollars for payments at local businesses. However, some establishments will take American cash; often, with a surcharge for making the bank exchange. Cash machines for withdrawing Canadian cash using debit or credit cards are available in Otonabee College and at the Trent University Bookstore, or at convenience stores and banks.
