Stream Ecosystem Restoration Workshops & Professional Certificate Program

University at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY

The University at Buffalo (UB) will be offering a summer workshop program in stream and river restoration.  Workshops will be taught by leading scientists and practitioners from western New York and across the country. Workshops cover topics related to all aspects of stream restoration including fluvial geomorphology, stream and riparian ecology, restoration design, stream assessment, modeling, invasive species, and more. Workshops will combine field trips, lectures, and hands-on experience and range from one to four days in length. Workshops are open to students, working professionals, and anyone interested in stream restoration. A Professional Certificate option is available to those who complete certain program requirements. DISCCRS VIII Interdisciplinary Climate Change Research Symposium

The DISsertations initiative for the advancement of Climate Change ReSearch (DISCCRS, pronounced discourse) hosts symposia for early-career climate change researchers.  During the weeklong symposium, 30 competitively selected recent Ph.D. graduates will share their research, engage in discussions with peers, mentors, and funding agency representatives, and hone their teambuilding and communication skills. Most importantly, scholars will depart from the symposium with a collegial peer network that extends across the full range of climate science.

Lake Michigan State of the Lake and Great Lakes Beach Association Joint Conference
